This early work in the visual art career of internationally renowned artist and architect Benjamín Cañas, has been passed down through inheritance in the family of the current owner since it was first acquired at or near the time of the Biennale de Paris in the early 1970's.

Even before the late Benjamín Cañas became known internationally for his sculptures, his striking pyroengraved abstract paintings on wood panels, and even a small number of etchings in his earlier period, and his Renaissance-like richly colored surrealist oil paintings in his later period, this remarkable artist was an internationally renowned architect with fine examples of structures, particularly churches, to his credit that are solely his design outside and inside (including a Via Crucis wrap-around mural in one).

Another salon in the E-Museum has more examples of works by Benjamín Cañas at this link. For additional information about this panel, or about other extraordinary art works by this brilliant artist and architect, please e-mail the E-Museum Curator
