Pyrography on paper with color

In recent years, Australian artist Sue Walters of Victoria, after enjoying a successful career working in pyrography on wood, expanded her work to pyrography on paper as still another outlet for her creativity.

Read her interesting article for the Australian Cultural Network, in which she focuses on her transition from pyrography on wood to pyrography with color on paper.

She was later featured in another Australian Art-Zine, linked here.

For some time now, Sue has had her own website Sue Walters Pyrography. Her vision for it, which no doubt evolved from the many requests for advice she receives, is to provide not only a gallery of her own work but instructional resources, as well. In addition, Sue has written some technique booklets and is now launching a newsletter—all from her own website. More recently, Sue has written some excellent "how to" books, which have proven to be just what her many fans were waiting for.

Read more about Sue and her exquisite work in an illustrated interview, linked here, in the Pyrograffiti Newsletter, from the March 2000 issue of the Woodcarver Online Magazine (WOM).

Sue was interviewed subsequently for her expertise in pyrography on tagua nuts, linked here, in the Pyrograffiti Newsletter, from the July–August 2001 issue of the WOM. Sue took a Best in Show at a woodcarvers show in Canada with her tiny pyrograph of a wolf done on the face of a tagua nut pendant.
