Pyrographic artist Songda Ouedraogo of Burkina Faso has been living in France since June 2002.
Songda's story and art works were featured in Pyrograffiti in the January–February 2003 issue of the WOM.
A small bio emphasizing Songda's art exhibits is on the Burkina Faso Cultural Website. Born in 1964, Songda launched his artistic career in 1983 and specializes in pyrography. In Cote d'Ivoire, he won the 2000 Prize for Creativity in Naive Arts.
Songda's contribution as an artist was mentioned in a news article entitled Democracy Flourishes in Environment of Press Freedom: "Burkina Faso's graphic designer Songda was honoured for his graphic design of the so called 'Youpgon mass grave' in neighbouring Cote d'Ivoire which was discovered during the height of political tensions in the country soon after President Laurent Gbagbo came to power."
