English pyrographic artist and conservator Susan M. Millis refers to her works as Fire Paintings when, in addition to the usual pyrographic techniques employed, she adds blowtorch techniques.

The story of Susan's art career, her extensive research into the history of the pyrographic technique, her formal studies in the conservation and restoration of pyrographic works, and her latest project studying and authenticating an unsigned piece by Ball Hughes is featured in Pyrograffiti 30 in the September–October 2004 issue of WOM.

The summary of her report authenticating the pyrographic panel "The Witches of Macbeth" by Ball Hughes, owned by David and Debbie Plunton of the U.K., is published here in the E-Museum of Pyrographic Art in the Ball Hughes Salon No. 3.

Susan Millis shows and sells her works through the Society of Equestrian Artists.

2006 Update: Susan Millis is currently pursuing an advanced degree in the conservation and restoration of pyrographic works. A travelogue of her 2006 research trip to the United States is featured in Pyrograffiti 38 in the July–August 2006 issue of WOM.
