American folk and wildlife artist Nancy Boitos lives in rural Michigan, where she often works on large-scale pieces like the two fireplace mantels shown here. The second mantel example (shown in two details) is a commissioned piece custom designed for the fireplace of a family's vacation house, where that same house and other details of personal meaning to the family were depicted by Nancy on the mantel.

Nancy Boitos' story and more examples of her art work, including additional details of these same pieces, are featured in a fully illustrated article in Pyrograffiti 34 in the May–June 2005 issue of WOM.

Linked here is Nancy Boitos' personal photo album containing her collection.
