Bulgarian artist Krasimir Hristov, has been doing pyrographic art since the late 1990s, some four years after being disabled because of a fall. After some experimentation, he discovered that he could create very effective chiaroscuro effects in this technique, especially after adapting the pyrotool he was using.
Recounting Krasimir Hristov's story and discovery of pyrography and displaying more of his works, principally works after the Old Masters, is an illustrated article entitled Krasimir Hristov and His PYRONAISSANCE of Old Masters Works published in "Pyrograffiti" in the January–February 2006 issue of WOM, linked here.
His own most impressive web site is aptly called PYRONAISSANCE and is linked here.
