Russian artist Julia Surba has been living in Siberia, working and learning in a taiga eco-village. Prior to that, she had completed studies in foreign languages and world art history and was working as a translator.
Julia shows her work on a web site dedicated to the study of Ancient Kuzhebar, the center of her artistic focus. The web site is shared with a multi-element musician and is called www.nadishana.com
Julia Surba's story and more examples of her art work are featured in a fully illustrated article in Pyrograffiti 34 in the May–June 2005 issue of WOM.
The story of her emigration to Berlin and exhibit there and an update on her prolific work are in a later edition of WOM in Pyrograffiti 41.
