Spanish artist Juan Carlos González, has been doing pyrographic art since his student days, when he saw the work of a friend at the university. Intrigued, he borrowed his friend's pyrotool to try it for himself. As he began to progress by trial and error, he eventually bought his own tool and has continued working over the years, progressing through his own experimentation. He is a professor of Spanish language and literature by profession, so he can only work on his pyrography in his free time or while on vacation.

Juan Carlos González's story, his technique, and more of his works are featured on his bilingual (Spanish and English) web site at pirograbados.awardspace.com.
