Belgian decorative artist Ivan Govaerts from the small city of Malines, has been dedicated to pyrographic art since 1999. He draws inspiration from nature and from classical ornament. He has increasingly been experimenting with the human form in his work, and the last image above is a stellar example of his superb technique and artistry.

Enjoy a visit to Ivan's own Facebook page at Pirografie.

Ivan Govaerts' story and more examples of his figurative and ornamental art are featured in Pyrograffiti 23 in the May–June 2003 issue of WOM. Ivan has also been teaching pyrography to his little daughter Nina, who was featured in Pyrograffiti 37 in 2006.
