Italian pyrographic artist Irene Corgiat of Baldissero near Turin has been a figurative artist all her life. Of the many forms of figurative art that she has worked with, her preference is for pyrography. Except for the Face on the Shroud of Turin image, which is on linen, she has always worked with pyrography on wood or velour paper.

The story of Irene Corgiat's pyrograph on linen of the Face on the Holy Shroud of Turin, done at the request of the author Vittoria Haziel in conjunction with her book La passione secondo Leonardo (The Passion According to Leonardo), is told in the March–April 2003 Pyrograffiti in the WOM.
