After a photograph by the artist

Canadian artist Blair Brown, has been doing pyrographic art since the mid 1940s, and his works reflect his life in Canada, as well as countries in southern and east Africa. Most of his works in pyrography are after his own photographs. The final image above is likewise done after a photograph by the artist, who tells the story of it, as follows:
"This little guy was part of a celebration by the Paris Evangelical Mission at Masatissi in Basutoland. They came in from the Republic to take part in the celebrations..."

Recounting Blair Brown's story and discovery of pyrography and displaying more of his works, is an illustrated article entitled Blair Brown: Nova Scotia and Beyond published in "Pyrograffiti" in the May–June 2007 issue of WOM, linked here.
