Peruvian artist Aleksis Ponze Gallegos, from the city of Arequipa has been doing pyrographic art since 1990. By profession a high school history teacher, he is currently studying for a degree in Studio Arts and is working on a thesis that will break with all convention in the art department of his university—a thesis on pyrography.
Recounting Aleksis Ponze's journey of discovery in the art form of pyrography and displaying more of his works, principally works that reflect the cultures of Peru, is an illustrated article entitled Aleksis Ponze Gallegos: Autochthonous Themes of Peru published in the January–February 2006 issue of WOM, linked here.
A Retrospective of the artist's works is at the site linked here.
You are leaving the Aleksis Ponze Gallegos Salon.
