Macedonian artist Angelce Miskov is from the city of Veles and has been doing pyrographic art for about 12 years. The 35-year-old artist challenged himself to combine matchstick art—a special category of its own—with pyrography. And to give himself the ultimate challenge, he decided that, on matchstick panels, he would do pyrographic works reproducing the paintings and engravings of the extraordinary Renaissance artist Albrecht Dürer (1471–1528).

Actually combining matchstick art with pyrographic art is extremely time consuming and exacting. The artist can only work for about two hours at a time or risk losing concentration and making a mistake. Doing one of his larger works takes about 800 hours over a period of eight to ten months, and requires about 20,000 matches.

Demonstrating his technique and displaying more of his works, including his work "Adam and Eve" is an illustrated article entitled Angelce Miskov: Pyroengravings of Albrecht Dürer Works published in the January-February 2006 issue of WOM, linked here.

On January 20, 2006, Angelce was featured in the Macedonian Daily News—Dnevnik. The headline of the article (translated from Macedonian) is

Angel Miskov Pyrographs
The Art of Albrecht Dürer
Reproduced on Matchsticks

Below is the picture and caption from that article. Clicking on the linked headline above will take you to another page with the clipping of the article.

Angelce Miskov and his remarkable work were featured in a documentary film entitled "Light" written, produced, and directed by Ljubomir Mihajlovski, President of the Vision Science Fiction Centre of Macedonia.

As of December 2006, two additional web sites are now featuring this artist's works: Luigi Conci's of Italy and Patrick Faleur's of the U.K.
