With a Pyrography Outfit
by Alice Chittenden, 1904

Adapted from an article on pp. 168–169
of TABLE TALK,
Vol. XIX, Philadelphia, January–December, 1904.

This article, lauding the possibilities of an art form using a pyrography tool, is thought to perhaps be by the well known turn-of-the-century painter Alice Brown Chittenden (1858–1944), especially since she talks about the pyrography technique not so much as one might guide an inexperienced amateur or hobbyist (such as Maud Maude did) but rather noting artistic approaches and considerations from one artist to another.

If you have either any questions to ask or any additional information to offer on this 1904 article by Alice Chittenden, please e-mail the E-Museum Curator.
